Cat lovers, take note: A cat sanctuary located in Greece is offering up the job of a lifetime.
On August 5, God's Little People Cat Rescue posted about an intriguing "paid job offer with cats" on its Facebook page.
The privately-funded sanctuary is located on the Greek island of Syros.
According to the organization, they house rescue cats and feed strays
in the area. Now, they're looking for someone to come to Syros and take
over cat duties — and they're willing to pay.
The
posting calls for "a mature and genuinely passionate cat lover who knows
how to handle many cats and would love their company" to take over
running the sanctuary while the owner and founder, Joan Bowell,
is away. The chosen applicant would work around four hours per day and
have 55 cats in their care. Duties include feeding and medicating them
and taking them to the vet (via the sanctuary's manual car) should they
become ill. Part of the job also entails occasionally corralling "a
feral or non-sociable cat."
In exchange for these
cat-minding duties, the part-time position comes with"a fully paid
(incl. water & electricity) semi-detached modern tiny house with its
own garden (direct view to the Aegean Sea!) plus a salary." Expenses,
including food and vet costs, are covered by the sanctuary.

The ideal candidate, according to the posting, is someone age 45 or
older with some veterinary nurse training, knowledge of cat psychology,
and natural "cat-whispering skills."
"We are located in
a secluded nature preserved area which is very tranquil and quiet in
winter time but busy during the summer. You'll no doubt thrive best if
you are the type of person who appreciates nature and likes tranquility —
and rest comfortably in your own company," the listing reads. "That
said, you'll never feel lonely in the company of the cats and you'll be
expected to live with a small handful of cats in your house."
The job, starting November 1, requires a minimum commitment of six
months with a one-month introductory trial period (as a volunteer with
free accommodation) beginning in October. If you think this sounds like
the perfect way to live out your "Mamma Mia!" dreams (with the addition
of a few dozen cats), the rescue invites you to send your application
